This is how UV light in a grow light helps you grow strong plants!

Why sow indoors?

In March and April, outdoor temperatures are often still too low for young plants. By sowing indoors, vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, and lettuce get a strong start. Once it is warm enough outside, the seedlings will be sturdy, well-developed, and ready to be planted out.

What do you need to get started?

  • • Seed trays or pots
  • • High-quality seed compost
  • • A warm place (18–22°C)
  • • Water spray bottle or plant sprayer
  • • Sufficient light – preferably with a grow light

Why is grow light so important?

In early spring, natural daylight is often insufficient. Even a sunny windowsill usually does not provide enough light. The result? Plants grow long and thin (“stretch”) as they search for more light. This makes them weak and vulnerable. The solution is a reliable LED grow light that provides your seedlings with the right amount of light and energy.

LED quantum boards with UV light

Do you want to grow strong and compact seedlings? Then the Quantum board Full Spectrum + UV is highly recommended. This panel combines efficient energy consumption with the right light composition to allow young plants to grow optimally.

The power of UV light for seedlings

UV light may sound intense, but in controlled amounts it is a huge added value for young plants. It provides:

  • Stronger cell structure – plants produce protective substances and grow stronger.
  • More compact growth – seedlings remain robust and low instead of thin and elongated.
  • Better resistance – plants are less susceptible to fungi, diseases, and stress from temperature fluctuations.

In short: UV light makes your seedlings stronger, healthier, and more resistant to challenges—from the first leaf to the mature plant.

Advantages of quantum boards with UV light

  • • Full spectrum light including UV—for natural and compact growth
  • • Low energy consumption – only 36W
  • • Ideal for seedlings, herbs, and microgreens
  • • Plug & play installation – ready to use immediately
  • • Compact size – fits above any grow rack or grow table
  • • Double benefit – extend the growing season by bringing plants indoors after summer and placing them under the panel

When can seedlings go outside?

Before seedlings are finally moved outside, they need to be hardened off. Place them outside in a sheltered spot during the day for a week and bring them back inside in the evening. This allows them to gradually acclimatize to the sun, wind, and temperature differences. After the last frost (mid-May), they can be safely planted in the ground.
